Ford Transit

Wide Range of Selection

With seven varieties of this highly acclaimed van, there is surely one to suit the extensive needs of any of its diverse drivers. This range of vans is equipped with superb safety features, stylish exterior design, diesel power and comfort. Such choices in the range include short, medium, and long wheelbase models, two Jumbo van options, three different roof heights, two common rail turbo diesel engines, and even front-wheel-drive and rear-wheel-drive models.

The Cab Chassis line offers a Single or Crew Cab with 4,490kg Gross Vehicle Mass extended frame. The Transit bus keeps passengers comfortable and safe. It comes as no surprise that with the Transit’s rugged, comfortable and work-horse stability, it has been voted “International Van of the Year 2007″ by a group of independent commercial vehicle journalists.

Fuel Economy without Compromising Power

Whether meeting with potential clients or maintaining an established customer base, the Transit can accommodate the demands of operating a business. Keeping a grasp on high rising fuel prices is of major concern. The Transit has a 2.4 litre TDCi engine with 103kW and 375Nm of torque at 2000rpm. This diesel engine has a six speed manual transmission on rear-wheel-drive models. Another engine option is the 2.2 litre turbo diesel TDCi. This is on front-wheel-drive vans and while providing great fuel economy, it also has 81kW of power and 285Nm of torque. Both are powerful yet economical choices.

Office On-the-Go

The Transit van interior is especially accommodating to the needs of an active driver conducting business on the move. The first and perhaps most important major feature of the van is its comfort. The driver’s seat features 6-way adjustments critical for maintaining proper lumbar support, especially on longer journeys.

Other relaxing options are air-conditioning, CD player with MP3 capacity, power front windows and side mirrors, cruise control and a leather wrapped steering wheel available on some models. Other particularly business-friendly facets are the dashboard tray, carpark pass holder, two bottle holders, and numerous storage compartments. These design features are all available to aid in your luxurious Transit driving experience.

Safety Features

There is no room for worry onboard the Ford Transit. Standard features on all models help to keep you and your passengers secure. Sound structural architecture combined with a driver side airbag, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) come standard on all Transit models.
An optional Professional Pack offers a front passenger airbag, Dynamic Stability Control with Traction Control, and reverse parking sensors. Having the DSC option allows increased steering and handling capabilities. With security in mind, the Transit also has an alarm, engine immobilizer and security coded keys as standard on each van.
